Mozambique Preschool
Competition Project
In the Xai-Xai district of Mozambique, a preschool for disabled and vulnerable children for 0-5 ages has been aimed to design with a sense of identity and belonging for those children.
In organizing the general layout in the given site, the entrance side, slope and the existing amarula tree in the center was the initial credits to start the settlement.
Main material is chosen as clay brick which is easily manufactured by community and also has the strength and durability for the weather conditions and security. Thus, the capabilities of the use of brick allows a smooth sense of space which we have avoided the corners as much as possible. local timber for some indoor and outdoor surfaces, playground elements and also used straw for the roofs
